Blue Hibiscus?

Blue Hibiscus? Are you kidding?

"Stop and smell the roses" advised one of my old folks. He seems to understand my situation when decline his invitation to a coffee session one evening. I seems to be busy the whole year round (or pretend to be..)

Literally I head his advise, one evening. As I walk around my neigbhourhood, I come across this funny looking hibiscus. It was BLUE! I never knew that there is this hybrid of blue hibiscus. One day got to ask my horticulture friend where does the parent come from.

I rush back for my digi-cam to capture this wonderful creation. Ok enjoy the photo below.
This looks blue to you?

This one is just nearby. Pinkish Blue.

If you find something unusual, do tingtong me.

Bitten By a Dog

Yesterday evening was the unluckiest day of my jogging session.

Over the last 4 years, there were many sacrifices, pain and failures in the pursue of reducing my belly circumference. Running in midday, walking aimlessly under the rain, doing 50 grueling push-up and trekking an unfamiliar jungle track are just a few crazy things that I've done. All of this is for the sack of well being and health.

As I was running on my regular route around the housing estate, I passed by no36 of lorong 9. I know I have to be a little cautious as I was once bitten by a dog that charges out from the triple storey bungalow's gate. I was lucky the first time as my shoe sole was the only casualty. Out of the blue the same dog started to bark and rush out from the gate and bit me on the ankle. This time it was truly a bite. As the dog bark fiercely circling me, I bravely rang the gate bell. Tingtong tingtong! Wanting to have a one-to-one talk with the owner, instead, their maid appeared. I was informed that her boss was'nt around but on a business trip to Singapore.

Well, after a few more confrontation with the dog I manage to escape the area with a dream that one day I will catch up with the dog owner to give him my piece of mind. Although it is painful, my ambition of having a six-pack-ab remains. Tomorrow I will brave the same route, maybe armed with a broom stick.

After reflecting, now I now that human are not that super anywhere. Some can take good care of a big business but not know how to keep a small stupid dog.

ouch!!! painful. You don't mind the hair? Or maybe the dog thought that I am a Gorilla...

BAI BAI

Will you be my "Belly Dancer" for the night?

Finally, the day that everybody is waiting for has arrived. Last day of school!. I am sorry, not that I don't like school but it is a kind of bonus after a hard days work. Maybe after I finished my last task today, I will be able to spend sometime reflecting on the wonderful things that has happen over this year. One thing fresh in my mind is of course the annual dinner party last weekend. It was a wonderful experience as we move from our traditional club venues to a new location close to home. I am happy that my journey to the freshly renovated first floor of the restaurant took just 5 minutes drive from my home. Never mind the funny name that I am searching for. Hello cina? or something that sounds like that. I heard some says its California. So where are we eating tonight? California? I arrived 30 minutes before the official function.

I was greeted at the door by my wonderful bubbly teachers and presented with a magnum3D and two balls of fruits. What a thoughtful gift that I received. I wouldn't want to add another collection of my earthen ware that I displayed in my glass cabinet. The fruits will be a welcoming memento to be savour later that night. As for the 3D, everybody know that I am always unlucky. My hand smells like dung.

Just by scanning around, I could guess what is in store for the night. I know I will be enjoying some creative "peer"formances. The traditional zapin man adjusting his songkok, our kung fu mistress unpacking her sword and some cheongsam amoy running around with their flip fan reminds me of the party we had last year. I was in the lime light but this year I will just be sitting around, idle.

As usual the party started with some familiar dishes and some familiar thank you speeches. A pleasant surprise to this years cold dish is the appearance of the humble anchovies [ikan pusu]. It was light and crispy and surely be a popular pre-snack for the hungry stomach. Most of all the good food was complimented with the loudest, rudest and the happiest fellow teacher that I sat with. This year we are lucky to plucked in one rose into our table. understandably, she was the center of attraction.

Still the most of the most surprise is the belly dancing performance. It shows that age doesn't catch up very much with my fellow teachers. Although I cannot belittle the show off from the other artiste, the belly dancers really catch my attention. I have a question unanswered. Where in the world did they get their costume? It must be from the shopping spree that they indulged in from their trip to Dubai the other day. How I wish I could join in just to shed some calories from my bulging belly. Well, if any of them read this blog, my message to them is : Keep On Shaking Ladies! Sure the king is happy!

At first I though of uploading some photo into this blog but lets wait till somebody wave me a comment. Before I tingtong for the night, I wish to record my appreciation to those who have works so hard to make the night a wonderful one. I am quite happy that next year is still not my turn to make everybody happy at this time of the year. Maybe I'll wait for the next next year to organise another Arabian Night Party. Till then tingtong...tingtong. Its time to sleep. Sweet dream and sheikh tide.

The holiday will be a taste of retirement. Drinking coffee as I see the sky passes by.
